Overview



Our part is a coding sequence of ADH2 from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It codes an enzyme which converts alcohol to corresponding aldehyde. You simply insert this part into an expression vector like pET-28a(+) (Novagen), and the corresponding enzyme yeast ADH2 can be expressed under suitable condition. This enzyme preferentially catalyzes the conversion of ethanol to acetaldehyde and can act on a variety of primary unbranched aliphatic alcohols.
