cin8 - cell cycle specific degradation tag in yeast
This BioBrick is the C-terminal domain of the yeast Cin8 protein. Cin8p is a kinesin-related motor protein that is important for the spindle assembly in the anaphase of mitosis. At the end of mitosis and through the G1 phase Cin8p is degraded via the anaphase-promoting complex.<br\n> It has been shown that this C-terminal region of the protein is sufficient to get late anaphase specific degradation via the APC-Cdh1 complex. To obtain degradation a nuclear localisation signal has to be added, because it is missing in this BioBrick.
