Zeocin resistance cassette
Zeocin and bleomycin resistance cassette including promoter and coding sequence. It lacks a terminator.
Usage and Biology
The antibiotic bleomycin, a strong DNA cutting agent, is naturally produced by actinomycetes which have developed a resistance mechanism against it. This resistance protein works by sequestering of the antibiotic. E coli expressing this cassette can grow on 25 µg/ml zeocin.
