hph (hygromycin phosphotransferase)
The hph gene encodes hygromycin phosphotransferase, which confers resistance to hygromycin.
Usage and Biology
- Cornell iGEM demonstrated the functionality of this part via transformation (in vector pHPVEL1) into C. heterosporus. The fungal transformants grew in the presence of hygromycin:
- This part has been used in the construction of composite and generator parts BBa_K1021028, BBa_K1021030, BBa_K1021033, and BBa_K1021034.
