This composite part is the union of:

• a PoPS in -> cI, lasR out device and
• a Plambda-regulated luxR protein generator with Plux downstream.

It is a module of the following genetic demultiplexer (demux - click [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiplexer here] to see what is a multiplexer):

where:

• PI and PS are two promoters that can be ACTIVATED by the two generic elements I and S respectively;
• GOI0 and GOI1 are the two genes of interest that are the outputs of the system.

In particular, K081004 is the Selector.

People who want to use the genetic demux have to assemble:

• K081003 under the desired regulation for Input (for example the generic promoter PI);
• K081004 under the desired regulation for Selector (for example the generic promoter PS);
• the desired protein generator for Out0 downstream of K081003 (for example the generic RBS-GOI0-T generator);
• the desired protein generator for Out1 downstream of K081004 (for example the generic RBS-GOI1-T generator).
