KaiC coding region
This part contains the coding region for the Prochlorococcus (Synechococcus) elongatus PCC7942 KaiC gene. An extra stop codon was placd at the end of the wild-type coding region to ensure translational termination. Two silent mutations were added to remove EcoRI and PstI cut sites present in the wild type allele. The physical DNA was sequenced as part of synthesis by GeneArt AG. Note that the coding region is bounded by the BioBricks Primers and is on a non-BioBrick vector pGA4(ampR). The biobricks primers can be cut out along with the KaiC coding sequence with KpnI and XhoI. The length of the entire plasmid is 4558bp.
