TACE(Tumor necrosis factor-α-converting enzyme) aka ADAM17 endopepsidase (H. sapiens)
ADAM17, also known as tumor necrosis factor alpha; converting enzyme (TACE) is activated by several tyrosine kinase receptors, and is known to be over expressed in cancerous cells. It is an integral transmembrane that produces TNF-alpha; and participates in ectodomain shedding of other transmembrane proteins. This part has to be linked with promoter in order to be expressed in yeast. For the Bio Brick standard, we replaced Pst I sites in the sequence as c to t at 1356, c to t at 1809, g to a at 2220, and g to a at 2436 without changing the amino acids.
