DNA fragmentation / DNA repair induction device, input dependent

Our device is composed of two protein coding regions for PARP1 and CAD, respectively. The transcription of PARP1 is controlled by a methionine repressible promoter while transcription of CAD is controlled by a galactose inducible promoter. Therefore, both apoptosis and DNA repair can be triggered separately or combined. In the absence of the repressor or inducer molecules the default state results in DNA repair mode. Depending on the presence or absence of the repressor molecule methionine (MET) and the inducer molecule galactose (GAL), our part will induce apoptosis via DNA fragmentation, simultaneously induce DNA fragmentation and DNA repair potentially leading to increased cell viability, or maintain normal cell state
