Reverse Lux Promoter
This promoter is the right promoter in the lux cassette of Vibrio Fischeri. There is weak constitutive expression of downstream genes. Expression of downstream genes can be up-regulated by the action of the LuxR activator protein in complex with the autoinducer, 3-oxo-hexanoyl-HSL. Two molecules of LuxR protein can form a complex with two molecules of the AHL. This causes a conformational change in the protein, allowing it to bind to a site on the lux promoter and induce transcription.
