crtIB (phytoene dehydrogenase + phytoene synthase)
crtIB (phytoene dehydrogenase and phytoene synthase) from Pantoea ananatis (formerly Erwinia uredovora) DSMZ 30080 (ATCC 19321). Accession: D90087. Part of the carotenoid biosynthesis pathway. Note that the crtB coding sequence overlaps the crtI coding sequence. Eventually we hope tp prepare and submit separate crtI and crtB biobricks. NOTE: this version contains 2 PstI sites. In a later version, to be submitted at a later date, these were removed by site directed mutagenesis; however, at the time of writing, the mutated version has not been converted to a compliant biobrick (of course, the present version is also not a compliant biobrick since it contains PstI sites).
