DNA motor protein FtsK
Integral membrane-protein FtsK translocates to the septum at bacterial division, clutches DNA and tugs at it so that replicated DNA monomers that are interdigitated may be excised by the XerCD recombinase complex. Note that this is the native coding sequence from Escherichia coli, which begins with a TTG start codon and includes two PstI sites. See Edinburgh 2007 project background for more detail.
