Pepsinogen from Homo sapiens optimized for E. coli

Pepsinogen is the precursor protein for the enzyme pepsin, one of the primary digestive enzymes located in the human stomach. Pepsinogen activates into pepsin in the presence of HCl and other pepsinogen molecules. It is a protease, being used in the human digestive system to digest proteins.
