AOX 1 promoter
The AOX 1 terminator is a sequence used to terminate transcription, which helps to ensure that the mRNA of an expressed gene is correctly sheared and stabilized. In the yeast expression system, the AOX 1 terminator plays an important role in ensuring that the expression of exogenous genes can be effectively regulated.
Usage and Biology
In Pichia pastoris, Thomas et al. compared the expression of Pichia pastoris novel termination sequences with the commonly used AOX 1 termination sequences, and finally screened 15 Pichia pastoris termination sequences and 5 Saccharomyces cerevisiae termination sequences, and finally found that none of the EGFP (Enhanced Green Fluorescent Protein) expression was as high as the AOX 1 terminator expression level.[1]
