ECM10 terminator
- ECM10 terminator is from yeast ECM10 gene, which is a novel mitochondrial Hsp70 protein. Hsp70s plays a crucial role in cellular reactions, including protein synthesis and peptide folding. What's more, the protein is important for responding to cold and heat stress.
- Research shows that with the same promoter and coding sequence, the level of gene expression can be influenced by its terminator. The terminators can influence the abundant of mRNA through regulating mRNA half-life. And mRNA half-life is influenced by the sequence of 3'-UTR and the level of polyadenylation, which are determined by the terminators. The comparison of the expression level of target protein between terminators is shown below.
