The Aada gene, also known as the aminoglycosid-3 '-adenylate transferase gene, is a gene found in prokaryotes. The enzyme encoded by this gene has nucleotide transferase activity and is able to modify aminoglycoside antibiotics so that these antibiotics lose the ability to bind to the target and develop resistance.
