Key enzymes for synthesizing hydroxytyrosol
KivD and hpaBC are two key enzymes in the synthesis pathway of hydroxytyrosol. If kivD is overexpressed, it can lead to the accumulation of toxic substance phenylacetaldehyde, exacerbating the metabolic burden on cells; If the expression of hpaBC is insufficient, it will lead to the accumulation of tyrosol and low production efficiency of HT. It can be seen that the balanced expression of kivD and hpaBC is a key factor affecting the production of hydroxytyrosol.
We designed to use strong promoters PbacA, Pbay derived from Bacillus licheniformis and P43 from Bacillus subtilis to optimize the expression intensity of kivD and hpaBC.
