TATA
The TATA Box, Hogness Box, is one of the components that make up the eukaryotic promoter. The consensus order is TATA(A/T)A(A/T), which is A non-template chain sequence. It is about -30bp (-25~-32bp) upstream of the start point of gene transcription in most eukaryotes, and basically consists of A-T base pairs. It is the selection that determines the beginning of gene transcription, and it is one of the binding sites of RNA polymerase. RNA polymerase can only start transcription after it firmly binds to TATA frame. The TATA Box ensures proper localization of transcription.
Usage and Biology
We used to bind the binding sites of RNA polymerase, ensuring proper localization of transcription.
