This is to test a promoter
We utilized a paper on rClone Red to see what kind of strand we would need to create that could produce the most RFP proteins. We noticed that the mutant strand B21 produced the most RFPs so we altered the B21 strand (changed one base, GAA to GAG). We decided to change one of the bases so that it would match Watson-Crick binding (which the original B21 mutant strand did not). This altered B21 strand will hopefully produce more RFP and therefore make the rClone Red be more productive.
