2013 Annual Review

Revision as of 15:07, 11 April 2014

The Registry's Repository
The Registry's Repository contains DNA samples for thousands of parts, submitted by iGEM teams and labs. Last year, iGEM teams sent in samples for over 1500 parts.

Be sure to add your parts and send samples to the Registry so that they can be made available to the community!

Featured on the Registry

The iGEM Registry is a growing collection of genetic parts that can be mixed and matched to build synthetic biology devices and systems. As part of the synthetic biology community's efforts to make biology easier to engineer, it provides a source of genetic parts to iGEM teams and academic labs.

You can learn more about iGEM Teams and Labs at iGEM.org

Brainstorming

The distributions will be shipping soon, so what should you do in the mean time? Brainstorm! We've created several pages to help teams see what projects have been done in the past and to highlight some of our most used and documented parts.

Introducing Collection pages.

These pages highlight projects from 2013 and previous years that you can browse for inspiration.

Interested in CRISPR? We have a page with information on all the 2013 teams who worked with CRISPR.

We're also working on getting our most used and most documented parts available to see. These pages highlight the top 10 most used and documented parts in many cagetories:

iGEM 2013 Results

Still looking for inspiration for your project? Check out the 2013 results for more ideas. You can see all the presentations, posters and talks from our 2013 teams.

2013 Annual Review

After the 2013 competition was over, we did some work putting together a report summing up our year: 2013 Anual Review.

We created several resources that teams might find useful. We created a "project harvesting" document that associates key words with each 2013 project. You can download this spreadsheet here:

We also had scientist and blogger Christina Agapakis at the Jamboree. Christina wrote a report on the Jamboree that summarizes many great projects and themes.
