Design Notes

We use it primarily to consider the role of nadM in the de novo and salvage pathways of NAD+ biosynthesis. NadM encoded by nadM catalyze the adenylylation of the nicotinic acid mononucleotide precursor to nicotinic acid dinucleotide followed by its amidation to NAD+. Given the properties of this enzyme, we decided to use NadM to increase the total amount of NAD+ within the engineered bacteria.
