LexRO

LexRO is a recombinant protein consisting of two parts: a DNA binding domain of LexA(408) repressor and a RsLOV light sensor domain. In darkness, its LOV domain dimerises and forms LexRO dimers, which can bind to the promoter and repress the expression of downstream genes. Under exposure to blue lights (450~465nm), the dimers dissociate, release the expression of downstream genes.
