PNIT_Nitrate_Dependent_Promoter
PNIT_Nitrate_Dependent_Promoter
Description and Biology
PNIT is a nitrate-dependent promoter highly induced by nitrates and repressed by ammonia in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. It activates the transcription of nitrate assimilation genes such as NR or NiR under nitrate-stress conditions. Contrary, it is repressed upon ammonium, which is the product resulting from said nitrate assimilation.
How can this part be used
In AlgaGenix, PNIT sequence has been adapted for MoClo assembly as a A1-B2 part.
Source of this part
Original sequence was obtained from MoClo kit designed by Crozet, et. al (2018)
Design considerations
MoClo kit provides you with sequences with different overhangs so you can choose the one that better fits you design/cloning plan.
