ATF1

ATF1 is derived from S.cerevisiae genome. It encodes for the enzyme alcohol acetyltransferase 1 (AATase 1), and catalyses the reaction of acetate esters from acetyl-CoA and alcohols. It is included in our composite part with ARO10 (2-ketoacid decarboxylase) and ADH7 (alcohol dehydrogenase), which are transformed into the genome of S.cerevisiae simultaneously for overexpression to produce isoamyl acetate.

Usage and Biology

ATF1 is a DNA sequence derived from the genome of S.cerevisiae that encodes for the enzyme alcohol acetyltransferase 1 (AATase-1). It catalyzes the conversion from acetyl-CoA and alcohols to acetate esters. During fermentation, the rates of producing acetate esters demonstrate a correlation to AATase activity.
