sgDNA for AlgC_FW 36

This guide DNA has been designed to work with dCas9 to target AMR related genes in Acinetobacter baumannii . The guide binds 36bp downstream the TSS on the FW strand of the gene.

The AlgC gene was studied in Acinetobacter baumannii AIIMS 7 [1], a multidrug resistant strain, as a candidate gene in biofilm production. Further analysis identified the transcription product as the bifunctional enzyme phosphomannomutase/ phosphoglucomutase, necessary to produce exopolysaccharide core in alginate and lipopolysaccharide core. In particular, this enzyme would have a similar structure to that of P. aeruginosa. Transcript levels appear to be in close association with biofilm formation, particularly with the maturation phase (36–48 hours) and also with the initial attachment phase (3–9 hours).
