Cas12k

The Cas protein, which performs the enzymatic activity required for DNA editing (helicase and nuclease), is the first of two main components that make up the CRISPR system, a member of adaptive immunity found in the majority of bacteria. This system has been modified in various ways to be one of the most effective systems for gene editing.
