Overview

This composite part is an inducible high-expression system to produce Cecropin B, an antimicrobial peptide in microalgae. The expression of this part is triggered by nitrogen starvation. This part is based upon research from the following publication: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-69620-9

Usage and Biology

This part is used for the inducible expression of Cecropin B in a high-expression manner in microalgae. CvNDI1 is a strong promoter induced via nitrogen starvation. This promoter is derived from the urea carboxylase, and can be used to increase expression up to 20-fold as compared to wild-type expression.
