pNP Mut 1-1

The pNP Mut 1-1 is a gene that encodes the activation protein for downstream GFP expressions. As the pNP (p-nitrophenol) in the environment increases, pNP molecule binds to the pNP Mut 1-1 protein and acts as a transcriptional factor for GFP. In our experiment, we measure the level of GFP fluorescence to determine the success of paraoxon degradation (paraoxon's hydrolysis into pNP and diethyl phosphate). After the pNP Mut 1-1 protein is used, the pNP Mut 1-1 gene is expressed again, continuing the cycle.
