Llama immunoglobulin IgA hinge linker

It is a natural llama hinge region to provide a flexible linker for Nanobody and the protein fused to it. The amino acid sequence is STPPTPSPSTPP.

Usage and Biology

This region in the antibody ensures that the variable regions can move in space and thus bind to their antigen. Since it fulfills this role in nature, it is suitable for conjugation to nanobodies. This way the Nanobody remains rigid and can attach to the chosen antigen after conjugation.
