glpABC promoter

Activator: Fis, FlhDC, CRP, Fnr Inhibitor: ArcA-P, GlpR glpABC: In the anaerobic respiratory of E.coli, glpABC form glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) dehydrogenase complex that catalyzes the oxidation of G3P, transfer an electron to cytochrome c peroxidase (CCP) and then using H2O2 as the terminal electron acceptor. ArcA is the major regulator of aerobic metabolism and represses the genes of aerobic metabolism under anaerobic conditions. FNR is the regulator of genes required for anaerobic respiration and related pathways with a sensory and regulatory DNA-binding domain that can be activated and inactivated by the reduction and oxidation of the 4Fe4S cluster. GlpR binds strongly to DNA in the presence of glucose, and this binding is diminished in the presence of an inductor, glycerol, or glycerol-3-phosphate (G3P) along with the absence of glucose. Glycerol utilization has shown to be dominant in the mid-log phase, whereas glucose fermentation is in the early log phase.

This is the glpABC mRNA expression-Time graph.
