Overview

This part is the Ulp1 enzyme used to cleave the fusion partner at SUMO c-terminal without a scar. This is derived from iGEM distribution kit 2022, plate 2.

Usage and Biology

Ulp1 is an enzyme designed to cleave the SUMO-tag from it's fusion protein. This reaction is specific allowing for the specific and induced cleavage of SUMO.
This is the coding sequence for Ulp1 to be used in bacterial protein expression systems
