Derived from Y. lipolytica, EXP promotor is a specific DNA sequence upstream of the 5' end of a structural gene that can be specifically recognized and bound by RNAP. This promoter has been used to control the expression of the required enzyme genes in Y. lipolytica to improve the production of omage-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.
