Design Notes

The protein sequence was codon-optimised for expression in Escherichia coli K12 through the IDT codon optimisation tool as gBlocks® Gene Fragments, and ensured that EcoRI, XbaI, SpeI, and PstI restriction sites were not accidentally present within the CDS.

This original protein sequence was taken from the XYL1 gene of Scheffersomyces stipitis (formerly known as Pichia Stipitis) (strain ATCC 58785 / CBS 6054 / NBRC 10063 / NRRL Y-11545), which can be found on the Uniprot database.
