This is the Kozak sequence used by the 2021 Duke iGEM team for constructing our plasmids. The Kozak sequence is meant to facilitate the proper initiation of translation in eukaryotic mRNA transcripts. The Kozak sequence is inserted immediately upstream of our reporter protein within each construct.

Contribution Summary
This is the vertebrate consensus Kozak sequence, added upstream of the start codon of our insert BBa_K4235000. The Kozak sequence serves as a translation initiation site in eukaryotes and ensures proper translation the protein from the mRNA transcript.
