Design Notes

This composite part constitutes a biosensing unit based on a theophylline aptazyme sequence flanked by a ribosomal binding site and ribosomal binding site complementary sequence (BBa_K3806010). A codon optimized lacZ (BBa_K3806012) acts as a reporter gene. The construct is preceded by a T7 promoter (BBa_K3633015) for transcription by T7 bacteriophage RNA polymerase.
