gen1 210-3p Toehold Switch

Toehold switch that regulates the translation of a protein, positively induced by a trigger RNA. When micro-RNA hsa210-3p is present, the miRNA binds to part BBa_3905003 (gen1 210-3p Anti-miRNA) which forms a duplex. This duplex trigger causes the toehold switch to unfold by binding to the trigger binding site, exposing the RBS and start codon and allowing translation to occur at a ribosome. In a composite, a reporter gene should be placed downstream here which will report when in the 'on' state.

Locked and labelled toehold switch.
