Integrin Binding Domain (GFPGER)
Integrins are transmembrane receptors that allow for cell adhesion to a cell's extracellular matrix. Integrin recognition sequences can form a basis for binding domains within proteins [1]. The documented part is meant for insertion into the triple helical structure of Scl2 (Part BBa_K3833000) in order to allow for cell adhesion to hydrogels containing the protein. This part contains the integrin binding domain GFPGER.
