Kozak Sequence (Human RBS)

This is the Kozak sequence used by the 2021 Duke iGEM team for constructing our plasmids. The Kozak sequence is meant to facilitate the proper initiation of translation in eukaryotic mRNA transcripts. The Kozak sequence is inserted immediately upstream of our reporter protein within each construct.

Design Notes

The start codon ATG is not included in this version of the Kozak sequence.

Source

The Kozak sequence was determined through analysis of various eukaryotic mRNAs.
