Part:BBa_M10024
{a~Int-native>} Intimin (native)
This part is derived from the eaeA gene found in enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7. The eaeA gene is responsible for intimin, which are bacterial adhesins that allow for interaction between E. coli and a range of eukaryotic cell surface receptors. The intimin has a N-terminal transporter domain that is localized to the outer membrane. The transporter promotes the translocation of C-terminally attached passenger domains accross the membrane and displays it on the cell surface.
This part consists of the N-terminal transporter with a prepro sequence. Passengers of interest can be fused onto the C-terminal of the part to display the passenger on the cell surface.
