This part has been shown to translocate to the cell surface and adopt a multimeric conformation. It's been demonstrated to promote cell aggregation and biofilm formation on abiotic surfaces in various UPEC strains . UpaG is a trimeric AT adhesin that mediates aggregation, biofilm formation, and adhesion to various ECM proteins.
