Usage and Biology
LexA is a synthetic promoter that contains four LexA boxes. LexA boxes are parts derived from the bacterial LexA promoter and contain two SOS motifs. Additionally, this synthetic promoter has a core of the modified CYC1 promoter from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Synthetic LexA promoter can be recognised by transcription factor LexA-DNA binding domain to control the expression of the successive gene (Ottoz et al., 2014). It was acquired from the DualMembrane Kit 3 (Thaminy et al., 2003).
