Usage and Biology

SIC1∆N is a gene encoding a protein that inhibits cyclin-dependent kinase complexes and G1 to S phase progression in cell cycle (Hegde, 2010), prevents premature S phase entry, and warrants genome integrity (SIC1 | SGD). It is genomic DNA. The deletion of the first 90 nucleotides encoding the N-terminus, or the regulatory domain of the corresponding protein, results in a non-degradable Sic1 variant.
