nahR gene in P. putida + promoter + RBS

  • The nahR gene activates transcription of the nah and sal operons in response to the inducer salicylate. Traditionally in the NAH7 plasmid it inhabits, it works in trans of these operons, generating an activator that increases their transcription.

Studies have shown that this system works in Escherichia coli with no problem (1,2).
