Promoter expresses genes when the salt threshold is reached.

This promoter is found in C. reinhardtii, a green microalga species. In C. reinhardtii, the promoter expresses the CrGDPH3 gene under NaCl treatments, so the name of the promoter is the CrGDPH3 promoter. This promoter can be used for any project that requires salt-inducible regulation of certain genes. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain a labspace to determine the experimental results of this promoter on enhancing salinity mechanisms. With a lab, we would have collected quantitative data from experiments on the CrGDPH3 promoter, such as data regarding the required threshold of NaCl to trigger expression of transgenes.
