Design Notes

P-atp2 is a promoter in F0F1 ATPase operon and there is another promoter P-atp1 right in front of it. These two promoters has overlap regions.

Though the minimal promoter region hasn't be verified, the -35 region, -10 region and transcription start site(tss) has been clarified in the literature. Therefore, we exploratively narrow the promoter sequence from 733bp down to 85bp to include merely the essential -35 region, -10 region and tss. Results show that this part can be induced by alkaline effectively as normal.

The full sequence of Patp1-Patp2 has been previously documented by IIT_Delhi(BBa_K1170003).
