Exendin-4

Exendin-4, the dipeptidyl peptidase resistant analogue of GLP-1 was discovered in the venom of a poisonous lizard known as Gila monster (Heloderma suspectum). It has a half-life of about 26 minutes in humans after intravenous infusion which is significantly higher than the half-life of active GLP-1 molecule (1–2 minutes) in humans. [1]
