BMAP-18: Antimicrobial peptide.

BMAP-18 is effective against P. aeruginosa, S. maltophilia and trypanosomatid parasites. It is 18 amino acids long. It is the truncated version of the antimicrobial peptide BMAP-27, which is 27 amino acids long. BMAP-18 was used instead of BMAP-27 because it has increased target specificity and increased efficiency. This composite part includes the Ptac-M3 promoter (BBa_K3254017), RBS BBa_B0034, BMAP-18 coding region BBa_K3624000, and double terminator BBa_B0015.
