Applications of BBa_K2919000

This part was used in an attempt to make a toxin-antitoxin saftey system that would limit horizontal gene transfer. The part was used with a cumate inducible, CuO, promoter to prevent the toxin to kill the cell immediately. When induced with sufficient cumate the toxin worked to prevent cell growth in E. coli.


Cumate ghoT growthcurve.png This graph show that the toxin, ghoT, works by showing that the E. coli with the toxin insert when induced by cumate had lower OD600s than the E. coli without the toxin insert.
