Ho1 + PcyA + CcaR

This part comprises of the phycocyanobilin production unit [heme oxygenase 1 (Ho1) and phycocyanobilin ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PcyA)] and the CcaR protein.

Usage and Biology

Biology

The enzymes required for the production of phycocyanobilins [heme oxygenase 1 (Ho1) and phycocyanobilin ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PcyA)] are encoded by the part along with the response regulator (CcaR) of the CcaSR system. The production of phycocyanobilins and the CcaR protein are both crucial for the functioning of the green light-sensitive CcaS-CcaR system.

Usage

This part encodes for two indispensable components of the optogenetic CcaS-CcaR system. This part can be used along with the CcaS encoding sequence to establish the complete optogenetic system.
