CcaR v2.0 Generator

This part is a generator for the CcaR response regulator protein under a constitutive promoter and a strong ribosome binding site with a double terminator.

Usage and Biology

Biology

CcaR acts as a cognate response regulator for the activation of pCpcG2 promoter among activation by Histidine Kinase domain of the CcaS system. CcaR protein is constitutively produced in the cell and gets activated only when the light of specific wavelengths is shone upon it. This part produces CcaR under a constitutive promoter and a strong RBS.

Usage

This part is an essential component of the CcaSR optogenetic system stimulated by green and red light. CcaR helps in the activation of the pCpcG2 promoter when phosphorylated by the histidine kinase domain of mini-CcaS, thus regulating the protein expression.
