D6 hexa-aspartic acid linker

Usage and Biology

This part is a linker that links two proteins to form one fusion protein. It repeats the amino acid-aspartic acid six times to maintain distance of two proteins and preventing from interrupting each other while folding. The design of this sequence is based on the prefered codon usage of E.coli for aspartic acid(GAT-30%). In our fusion protein design in BBa_K2951008, we use it as a linker linking two proteins to form one fusion protein.
